On May 7, 2002, Overseer Kenneth W. Johnson, Jr., announced for the first time that he was carrying the vision to birth what is now Holy Ghost Living Tabernacle Ministries (HGLT): One Church In Three Locations. This announcement was made at Owen’s Memorial Chapel in Jarrett, Virginia to thirty-one disciples who desired to worship and flow in a non-traditional way.
Under the leadership of Overseer Johnson, the ministry has experienced phenomenal growth. The ministry serves three communities, Amelia, Dinwiddie and Richmond, Virginia with more than 20 active ministries in motion!
Each and everyday we make history. We have an extraordinary ministry with people dedicated to doing God’s work in the Earth. We are a church on the go and on the grow! We accomplish our goals through the vision of our Man of God. We serve the community by providing free and low cost food events, through Feed the Children, Angel Food Ministries and the HGLT Food Pantry Ministry. HGLT also hosts annual health fairs that provide free health screenings: blood pressure, body mass index, dental, glucose, pulmonary, and vision screenings for all; as well as free athletic and school entrance physicals to all children in the immediate and surrounding community. HGLT also serves our communities by providing child daycare, tutoring and mentoring through Standards of Excellence Children’s Development Center and Standards of Excellence Tutoring and Mentoring Program.
